Agility Robotics becomes the first US humanoid company on the stock market
The maker of the Digit warehouse robot began trading on Nasdaq on 5 November 2026. The listing is a milestone for humanoids, but the company's sales are still tiny.
Agility Robotics, the Oregon company behind the two-legged Digit robot, began trading on the Nasdaq stock exchange on 5 November 2026 under the ticker AGLT. Bloomberg describes it as the first humanoid-focused company to go public in the United States.
How it happened
Agility did not do a traditional IPO. It merged with a listed shell company called Churchill Capital Corp XI, a route known as a SPAC. Bloomberg reports the company expects to have about $465 million in cash before expenses, including roughly $201 million of new investment led by Foxconn. Other backers named include Nvidia, Amazon and SoftBank Vision Fund 2.
The reality check
TechSpot reports that Agility made only about $1.8 million in revenue last year. That is a very small number next to the valuation attached to the deal. In plain words: investors are betting on the future of humanoid robots, not on today's sales.
The same Bloomberg report notes that Chinese humanoid maker Unitree listed in Shanghai in August, so Agility is not the first in the world, only the first in the US.
What Digit actually does
Digit's work today is simple: moving totes and boxes in warehouses. Agility is expanding its relationship with the logistics company GXO.
Why you should care
If you are learning robotics, this is a signal about where jobs may appear. Companies that build legged robots need people who understand control, perception and safety. But treat the hype with care: a stock listing is not proof that a robot is useful at scale.
